Two Gurjar community men allegedly tried to rape her on Saturday but she thwarted their attempt, following which they set her afire at Padora village near Shivpuri, police said.
One of the accused Raghuvir, who was later arrested, too sustained burn injuries in his hands and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
A case under relevant sections of IPC and Prevention of Atrocities Against SC act has been registered against the accused in accordance with her dying declaration, Kailaras Police Station House Officer Dileep Singh Yadav said.
He said that a hunt has been launched to arrest the other accused.
