Youth who saved four lives battling for survival
WHEN EVERY one was running for life, Javed, saved the lives of four children. The young man is now battling for his life in the Intensive Care Unit of Sushila Jaswant Rai hospital. He suffered 80 per cent percent burn injuries. The chances of his survival are bleak.

Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal, during his visit to the hospital, appreciated the exemplary act of courage shown by Javed. He said his name would be recommended for bravery award.
Dr Rajeev Aggarwal, who treated him also advocated for conferring bravery award on the young man, who did not care for his own life and preferred saving the lives of four children. “The children and their parents told us the story of his valour,” said Dr Rajeev . The doctor and other staff of the hospital were doing their best to save the life of Javed, who hails from Buddha Marg at Mandawli in Delhi.
“He has suffered 80 per cent burn injuries and we are doing our best to save him,” the doctor said. “ Someone from the hospital rang us up to tell us about the tragedy,” said Javed's father Mizaz.
Javed had put up a stall of health equipment in the fair, along with his friend Arif Choudhary. When a fire broke out, Arif ran out of the enclosure, but Javed decided to save a few trapped children who were screaming for help. “ He took out four children, one by one without caring for his life until he fainted,” said Arif. Someone took him to the Jaswant Rai Hospital and informed his family in Delhi.
Javed, a student of class 12 in Delhi, had a passion for social work since childhood, said his father Mijaz.
