Patel Nagar is the same colony in which about two dozen houses were razed by authorities a couple of days back.
About a dozen of residents, led by corporator’s husband Iqbal Khan, also gheroed Khajarna police station and met the IG over the issue.
As per the residents, seven miscreants reached the colony at around 3 am and attacked Gaffar, Tauseef and Tassavar. They also looted Rs 35,000 from Gaffar’s house. Gaffar alleged that the miscreants were armed with swords and other sharp-edged weaponThe residents also alleged that the miscreants were the men of the coloniser against whom they are raising voice.
"We have registered a case and started investigation. As per the residents, the miscreants entered Gaffar’s house and ransacked it. Gaffar has alleged that the miscreants had also looted cash from the house. We are finding the linkages of the miscreants with the coloniser of Patel Nagar," said TI Khajrana CB Singh.
It is worth mentioning here that the residents of Patel Nagar were duped by the coloniser into purchasing plots on disputed land on which the high court had earlier ruled that a status quo should be maintained. But the people, apparently unaware of the matter, were constructing new houses on the disputed land, following which the administration acted a couple of days ago.
