Inebriated neighbour rapes infant in Madhya Pradesh

A two-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a neighbour in a village under Nalcha police station area of Dhar district on Friday, police said.

The infant was undergoing treatment at MY Hospital in Indore and her condition was said to be serious, police said.

City superintendent of police (Pithampura) Vikram Singh said the accused, Rakesh Bheel, was booked under sections of IPC and arrested soon after the complaint was lodged by the victim’s parents.

Rakesh, 30, is the father of three kids and was having a dispute with the victim’s relatives, police sources said. On Friday, he found the girl alone in front of her house. Taking advantage of the situation, he allegedly raped her at a secluded spot nearby and left her bleeding, they said.

Rakesh, the sources said, was in an inebriated state when he committed the crime.
