Temperature in Indore to rise till Diwali: Met department

Day temperature rose to three degrees above normal in Indore on Sunday as moisture content in the wind decreased. The average moisture content in the wind has come down to 54% from 86% in last 3 days.

Day temperature rose to three degrees above normal in Indore on Sunday as moisture content in the wind decreased.

The average moisture content in the wind has come down to 54% from 86% in last three days. According to local weather bureau, the day temperature may rise further as the sky would remain clear.

Meteorological department regional head Abhinav Kashyapi said temperatures would continue to rise till Diwali after which winter will set in.

Despite rise in temperatures, local rains may occur at isolated places in Indore and Ujjain division in next two to three days as monsoon has not yet withdrawn from western Madhya Pradesh.

A system forming in Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast will bring moisture to MP which may cause rains. The city has received 856 milimetres of rainfall this monsoon season which is 33.75 inches.

On Sunday, city recorded maximum temperature of 34.2 degrees Celsius, which was three degrees above normal. The minimum temperature at 20.7 degrees Celsius was two degrees above normal. Morning and evening humidity was 75% and 54% respectively.
