It was yet another success for Krishan Kumar Bishnoi, son of a farmer from Dhorimanna block in Barmer district, who secured 174th rank in the civil services examination, 2017.

Bishnoi, 24, currently works with the Ministry of External Affairs as an expert on China affairs. Prior to this, he worked at the United Nations Development Programme as consultant for African countries.
“Credit of my successful journey goes to my parents, who struggled for me and my siblings,” says Bishnoi, whose elder brother is a RAS officer, while his two sisters are medical and revenue officers.
After completing his early education in Rajasthan, Bishnoi got selected in the Saint Stephen’s College of Delhi and completed his graduation.
Sohanlal Gonsai, an assistant professor with the Delhi University, who hails from the same village, said that Bishnoi’s success is a proud moment for the entire village.
He said Bishnoi’s father is a farmer and mother is a housewife. Despite livelihood challenges, his parents provided atmosphere for better education of their kids. “Bishnoi is intelligent since childhood,” he said.
After his selection at the Saint Stephen College in Delhi, Bishnoi got a scholarship to study at Fletcher Institute of International Relations in France, said Gonsai, adding that he also got a chance to study at Harvard University for some time.
