Threat call to blow up Kolkata airport

An unidentified caller rang up the NSC Bose International Airport on Thursday threatening to blow it up leading to evacuation of all employees from the international cargo section.

An unidentified caller rang up the NSC Bose International Airport on Thursday threatening to blow it up leading to evacuation of all employees from the international cargo section.

The call was received by an employee of the international cargo section at about 4:30 pm, CISF commandant Jayati Ghosh told reporters.

CISF personnel immediately evacuated the around 300 employees from the section and began an intensive search, she said.

Security at the airport was also strengthened, she added.
