1. Sunscreen

Sunscreen is a skincare essential all year round. However, during the summers it is important to use the correct SPF for the skin to keep your skin protected from sunburns and sun tans. Also, due to the heat, using heavy and cream-based sunscreen can lead to more sweat on the skin. Opt out for a gel-based sunscreen that is light in consistency and does not leave the skin heavily moist. Sunscreen sticks are also easy to use and can be reapplied throughout the day. Use a broad- spectrum PA+++ sunscreen with an SPF of 50 to get the best coverage for your skin.

2. Aloe vera gel

Sunburns are quite common during these hot months so staying prepared to combat this skin concern always comes in handy. Aloe vera is a great soothing agent for the skin. Keep some aloe vera gel stored in the refrigerator and use the cold gel over your face at the end of the day. It will come down any inflammation that the skin is experiencing. You can also store aloe vera gel in the form of ice cubes and rub it all over your face to heal sunburn.

3. Face mists

Face mists are excellent to beat the heat during summer. Cucumber mists, rose mists, and lavender mists are some of the great ones which keep the skin cool. Carry a bottle of mists around you and spray it 2-3 times a day for a quick refreshment. It also hydrates and adds nourishment to the skin as too much sweating can lead to dryness.

4. Clay face masks

During the summers, the skin tends to get clogged and end up resulting in breakouts. To prevent this, use a clay mask once a week to remove all the gunk and dirt from the skin. Bentonite clay masks, kaolin clay masks, fuller’s earth, or Multani mitti masks work great for the skin and deeply cleanse the pores.

Keep your skin moisturized during the summer and drink a lot of water to keep the skin hydrated from within. Include these summer essentials in your skincare routine and you are all set to face the hot season.
