A day after his son joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress member and leader of the Opposition in Maharashtra, Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, began a spiritual tour on Wednesday.
The leader visited the Tuljabhavani temple Osmanabad. Later, he visited Kolhapur, though the purpose of the visit is not known yet. At Osmanabad, Vikhe-Patil said reports about his resignation are incorrect.
Meanwhile, another senior Congress leader, Balasaheb Thorat, asked Vikhe-Patil to clear his stand about the Congress party after son Sujay joined the BJP.
Thorat, a bête noire of Vikhe Patil, said that there is some issue about the “credibility about the leader of the Opposition”, after recent developments.
Thorat, speaking in Shirdi, said the Congress has given the Vikhe-Patil family the maximum opportunity to clear its stand ahead of the elections.
