Ramdev, who actively campaigned for the BJP in 2014 Lok Sabha polls, had last year ruled out any participation in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. “I have withdrawn myself politically. I am with all parties and I am with no parties,” he had said during the course of an interview.
“In 2019, nobody can stop Narendra Modi from becoming the PM and history is going to be repeated. 2014 mein aandhi thi, 2019 mein tsunami hai (In 2014, it was storm, this year it is tsunami). Ramdev, who has been critical of government on a few occasions and had even warned the Modi government of the consequences of rise in petrol prices, used one adjective after anothe r to praise the PM.
He also praised PM Modi and said that the Chowkidar wasn’t a thief. “Chowkidaar chor nahi, balki pure hai. PM banana sure hai,” Ramdev said.
Praising Patna Sahib candidate Ravi Shankar Prasad, Ramdev said that he should be voted for his connect, his accessibility and availability at the time of need. Ramdev did not spare the Congress either, taking a dig at Priyanka Gandhi. “The Congress did not field party’s general secretary Priyanka Gandhi against Prime Minister Narendra Modi due to fear of ending her political career at the beginning.”
He appealed to people from all castes to rise above the petty considerations and vote for Modi.
