5-year-old girl falls to death from 15th floor of Mumbai building

A five-year-old girl fell to death from the 15th floor of New Hind Mill MHADA colony at Ram Bhau Bhogale Marg in Byculla on Monday. The Byculla police are now investigating if the girl was pushed from the building or she accidentally fell while playing.

The incident took place at around 1 pm on Monday, following which the residents gathered at the spot. While her father was home, her mother, who is a police constable, was at work. The girl was playing in the corridor before she took the fall.
A resident of the complex, Siddhesh Bordarekar, said, “Suddenly there was a loud noise and as we stepped down the building we found that a girl had fallen from the building.”
An officer from Byculla police station said, “We are checking the CCTV footage to get the leads as her death is very suspicious. We are investigating whether she fell or somebody pushed her.”
The building’s watchman was the first person to witness the incident following which she was taken to KEM hospital, where she was declared dead.
