89-year-old man arrested for molesting 12-year-old girl in Mumbai

The Tilak Nagar police arrested an 89-year-old man on Thursday for allegedly molesting a 12-year-old girl.

According to the police complaint lodged by the girl’s mother, on Wednesday, her daughter had gone to a stationery shop to take printouts for her school project.

She met the accused on the way, who called her home and engaged her in a conversation. Later, he touched her inappropriately and misbehaved with her. He told her to come to his place often.

Scared, the girl escaped and went crying to her mother and narrated the incident. The parents then approached the Tilak Nagar police and lodged a complaint after which, the police arrested the accused.

He was produced before the special court for protection of children from sexual offences and remanded in police custody for two days.
