Docs, nurse molested me, took my photos, video in operation theatre, alleges Mumbai woman

The Bhiwandi police registered an FIR on Monday. The woman went to the hospital with complaint of stomach pain and was advised to undergo a surgery.

A woman has lodged a complaint against two doctors and a nurse from a hospital in Bhiwandi near Mumbai, alleging they touched her inappropriately, took her photographs and video while she was under local anaesthesia for an operation on May 12.

The Bhiwandi police registered an FIR on Monday.

The woman went to the hospital with complaint of stomach pain and was advised to undergo a surgery.

She alleged the doctors and nurse molested her in the operation theatre. As she was under local anaesthesia, she was conscious but her body was numb.

“ The victim has said in her complaint that the doctors had passed comments on her body while they were operating,” said the officer.

The woman also alleged that when the operation was over, the staff did not cover her body and later the doctors took pictures of her and circulated them. But no one has been arrested yet and investigations are on”, said a police officer.

The police are yet to recover the video or pictures. They plan to check the mobile phones of the trio named by the woman, officials said

“An FIR has been filed under Sections 354 A (sexual harassment), 500 (defamation) and 509 (outraging the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Information Technology Act,” said an official.
