Navi Mumbai resident runs over friend’s one-year-old son, booked
The police initially filed an accidental death report, but the victim’s father later lodged an FIR.
The Panvel city police on Thursday booked a man after his car ran over a one-and-a-half-year old boy in a residential society compound in Panvel. The car driver is a friend of the victim’s father. The incident took place on Sunday, when the victim had visited the accused’s home.

While leaving his home, the boy went rushing towards the moving car. The boy suffered severe injuries on the head. The boy was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, said the police.
“The Kamothe police had registered an accident death case. On Thursday, the boy’s father Suresh Kamble registered a first information report against the driver,” he added. The accused has been booked provisions of the IPC and the Motor Vehicle Act.
