Peter to Rahul: Who knows what people can do to save their girl

The charge sheet states that Indrani had told Peter over the phone about choosing the place where she planned to dispose of Sheena’s body

Former television honcho Peter Mukerjea did not approve of the relationship between his son Rahul and Sheena Bora, the daughter of Peter’s wife Indrani, according to the third supplementary charge sheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Sheena Bora murder case on Friday. The charge sheet stated that Peter’s displeasure was clear from an email he wrote to Rahul a month after Sheena’s murder in April 2012.

The email in question, written on May 29, 2012, read, “... initially I was ok with your relationship as I figured that due to economic pressures it would break anyway as Sheena would want more from life and would tell you that and leave you if she didn’t get it after a while… I was more interested in your safety. I could understand you having a broken heart for a time but nothing more than that and I didn’t want any harm to come to you in the processes. Who knows what things people can get up to in their quest for saving their girl or their reputation.”

In another email, dated June 19, 2012, Peter told Rahul not to be in touch with Sheena’s grandparents and brother Mekhail in Guwahati; her father; her friends Sanjana, Kansuk and Pranami; her former work colleagues; Indrani; and Vidhie Mukerjea, Indrani’s daughter with Sanjeev Khanna, whom Peter had adopted.

The charge sheet goes on to state that Indrani had told Peter over the phone about choosing the place where she planned to dispose of Sheena’s body.

Peter also knew that Sheena was Indrani’s daughter and not her sister, as Indrani used to claim in public, and that Sheena had told Mekhail about this, according to the charge sheet.
