Potholes choke up Western Express Highway traffic in Mumbai

The Mumbai traffic police said the many potholes on the Western Express Highway slowed down the traffic.

Heavy traffic jams were reported on the Western Express Highway in Mumbai in the morning even as the day was clear of rains.

The Mumbai traffic police said the many potholes on the Western Express Highway slowed down the traffic.

Motorists complained of spending over 40 minutes to cover the stretch between Goregaon Hub mall and Jaycoach flyover in Jogeshwari. The southbound lane of the highway was heavily affected between Kandivli and Vile Parle.

“I covered seven kilometres in 2 hours on the JVLR. There is excessive traffic today,” said a motorist.

Officials at the Mumbai traffic police said there was no congestion but the traffic was moving slow because of potholes. There were no accidents reported on the WEH.

Traffic police personnel are present between Kandivli and Vile Parle to manage the heavily affected patches on the highway.
