Sleeping couple robbed of ₹1.72 lakh
The police suspect the incident took place between 1 am and 4 am
An unidentified man allegedly broke into a couple’s house at Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road and stole cash and valuables worth Rs 1.72 lakh when they were asleep for only three hours. The MIDC police are in the process of registering a case.

The complainant, Satyawan Gangarkar, 36, said that the burglar made off with two phones, cash and his wife’s gold mangalsutra.
Gangarkar had returned home late on Friday from Thane, after visiting his wife’s maternal house. After reaching home late at night, Gangarkar’s wife complained of fever and she took medicines from a neighbouring doctor.
“They were tired and slept around 1 am. When she woke up around 4am for housework, she realised that they were locked in. She peered through the window and found that its latch was broken,” said Pradeep, Gangarkar’s brother.
The police suspect the incident took place between 1 am and 4 am when the couple was sleeping. Officials are investigating a case of house break-in.
