Three arrested for beating up man over petty issue in Mumbai
This is the third such incident that has taken place in the recent past.
Three people were arrested and a 15-year-old was detained by the police for assaulting a 23-year-old, following a brawl over a petty issue in Chembur on early Thursday. The police have arrested Vijay Godke, 26, Ashwin Sable, 22, and Kundan Godke, 25. Two more accused in the case are on the run.

According to Chembur police, one Darshan Shetty, 19, was riding his bike at D’Souza Wadi in Chembur when he brushed past the accused, who were walking in the lane. “The accused asked Shetty why he cut past them,” said Jayprakash Bhosale, senior police inspector, Chembur police station.
The situation quickly escalated into an argument, after which on Jason D’souza intervened to stop. The accused, however, refused to budge and began to physically assault D’souza. One of them kicked him on the chest and then attacked him with a sharp weapon, inuring his ear.
D’Souza approached the Chembur police, who registered a case under charges of attempt to murder and causing grievous hurt.
This is the third such incident that has taken place in the recent past. On Monday, three people sustained injuries at Mankhurd road after a fight broke out between two groups of people. Ramesh Sasane, 19, was riding his bike, with two on the pillion seat. The bike then dashed into two pedestrians, Mehfooz Khan and Mustafa Shaikh.
Shaikh and Khan told Sasane to ride properly, leading to an argument which soon resulted into a physical fight. After Ramesh raised an alarm, his father, Sanjay, 46, and brother, Pradeep, 21, who live in the vicinity rushed to the spot. A case was registered under sections 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian penal code (IPC) against Sanjay, Ramesh and Pradeep. All three have been arrested.
On May 9, an 18-year-old was arrested and three minors detained for allegedly killing a man in a brawl over boarding a taxi at 2.30am near Chembur colony bus stop on RC Road. Three men — Rambabu Mahadev Savita, 23, Surendra Natha Singh, 36, and Brij Singh, 23 — were seated in their taxi, and were on their way to Chembur from South Mumbai. At the same time, Krishna Boina, 18, and three minor boys, two aged 17 and one aged 16, were waiting at RC road to board a taxi to Kurla.
When the taxi arrived at RC road, the teenagers were waiting for the three men to disembark. However, the three were in an inebriated condition and were taking too long to pay the driver. The teenagers asked them to hurry up, which led to an argument. The main accused, Boina, picked up a paver block and smashed it on to Surendra’s head, killing him.
