Two men arrested for stealing 35 mobile phones and 11 chargers in Thane

Two courier boys were arrested for stealing 35 mobile phones and 11 chargers worth Rs 2.87 lakh from a mobile dealer’s godown at Bhiwandi in Thane on Thursday.
The duo — identified as Bajrang Gaikwad, 28, and Pramod Mhatre, 21 — reside in Bhiwandi resident and were working in the godown there for past few months.
On Saturday the two chalked a plan to empty the godown and on the same day stole the mobiles and chargers from DNX cargo Indian Private limited at Harihar compound in Narpoli at Bhiwandi, where the dealer used to keep his stock. The godown was closed by the afternoon and opened on Monday.
P Mondhe, police constable from Narpoli police station said, “When they opened the godown on Monday they found the mobile phones and chargers missing and then they started searching for it. When the duo did not turn up for work and also kept their mobile phones off, mobile dealer, Vinayak Ruke, 28, lodged a complaint on Thursday.”
It was on Thursday morning that they were arrested by Kongaon police station along with the stolen phones and chargers. Mondhe added, “The accused are in Kongaon police custody and they stole the phones to earn easy money by selling them at minimum prices in market outside Mumbai and Bhiwandi.”
Everything has been recovered from the accused and they are under investigation. The accused were produced in court and remanded in police custody. They have been booked under Section 380 (Theft in dwelling house, etc) of the Indian Penal Code.
