Find yourself jostling for space inside overcrowded trains? Good news, the Central Railway and the Western Railway plan to introduce as many as 27 local new train services during peak hours.

Four services will be operated between Wadala Road and Panvel, one between Wadala Road and Vashi and another between CSMT and Vashi. (HT File)

By the first week of October, the CR plans to introduce 28 new local trains, of which 14 will ply during peak hours.

There will be 14 new local train services on the harbour line and 14 on the trans-harbour route. New mainline services are expected to be introduced in November.

Four services will be operated between Wadala Road and Panvel, one between Wadala Road and Vashi and another between CSMT and Vashi.

The Western Railway plans to launch 32 new local trains, of which 13 will ply during peak hours.Eight of these will ply in the morning and five in the evening.
