Youth dies after falling from slide at water park
Park manager booked under section 304a (causing death by negligence) of the IPC more than month after the incident
A 23-year-old man died after falling down from a slide at a water park in Ambernath on Thursday.

Nitin Bhanudas Vankhande, a resident of Thane who used to work in a private firm, had gone to the park with his friends. A group of seven, including Nitin, reached the park at Parle village around afternoon, police said.
Nitin climbed the staircase to the slide first and as he was about to slide down, his leg slipped and he fell down from a height of three floors around 3pm. A police inspector from Shivaji Nagar police station said, “Nitin fell on the opposite side of the slide where the fencing was not done. He was rushed to the nearby hospital but he succumbed to his injuries. We had alerted his family members and after the postmortem, the body was handed over to the family”.
“We have taken the statement of NItin’s friends and they said they planned the trip beforehand as all of them had holidays from their respective offices, and it was kind of a get-together. The manger has not yet been arrested but he will be arrested soon”.
The manager was charged under section 304a (Causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.
