MUMBAI: The Congress party on Tuesday said Razzak Khan, who has been arrested for murder of RTI activist Bhupendra Vira, was never a party corporator. Mumbai Congress president Sanjay Nirupam, said that Khan was a corporator of Congress (Socialist) in 1985 and was member of Nationalist Congress Party led by Sharad Pawar. The Congress (Socialist) was led by Sharad Pawar between 1981 and 1986 before he merged it with the Congress. Nirupam also said that Khan always fought the elections as an independent candidate against the Congress. Condemning the murder, Nirupam demanded strict action against the accused.
