Refused money for alcohol, man kills mom

MUMBAI: The Wada police arrested a man who murdered his mother in their house in Wada, Palghar on Thursday night.

Dilip Wagh, 22, slit his mother’s neck and stabbed her in the chest with a kitchen knife after she refused to give him money to buy alcohol, said an official.

Wagh then hid in one of the lanes in the locality. His brother arrived home and found the body. Wagh has been remanded to police custody till Tuesday.

Wagh, a daily-wage labourer, lived with his mother Surekha . His girlfriend would occasionally stay at the house, which also angered Surekha and led to several fights. The police are trying to trace Wagh’s girlfriend.
