The DRI had seized two containers — one in Mumbai and another in Delhi which arrived from London via Dubai — carrying the items which had market value of Rs 2.5 crore. The containers were seized as the declared value of the consignments was very less to evade Customs duty.

The container which arrived in the city contained 129 packages, 21 of them bearing names of Jani and Khosla.

The container was seized at the Mumbai port. The DRI also learnt that another container was previously cleared from the Mumbai port and had reached Delhi. The Mumbai officials informed their Delhi counterparts that they seized that container from the farmhouse of Shahrukh Passi, a car showroom owner in Delhi.

The two have been asked to attend the DRI office in New Marine Lines on Friday morning. “If they don’t come we would issue second summons,” a senior DRI official said.

Khosla said that they (the two designers) are not aware of the whole case. “We are bit unclear. We will visit DRI and get informed of what is happening,” he said.
