Irfan Sheikh and Masleuddin Hashmi reached Bandstand at 9.30 am with friend Hody Jaiswal.

The Class 12 students of R. Shahu Junior College, Dharavi, decided to go for a swim. “They swam for a while and came out. Sheikh and Hashmi decided to go again,” said the Bandra police.

Jaiswal heard them shout for help. “He came to us... We rushed to the spot, but the boys had drowned,” said Bandra resident Bradley Quadros.
