Singh’s letter alleges Patil, who controls a business empire of thousands of crores in Alibaug, is facing charges of being involved in several unlawful activities including the large-scale destruction of mangroves in violation of a high court order. The letter challenges Kejriwal to talk about his “associate” and his violations to the press.
In October 2012, Singh had taken on Kejriwal saying he was selectively targeting people and keeping big exposés like Lavasa under the mat. Thursday’s letter points out that Patil shared the dais with Kejriwal when the AAP launch rally took place at Roha on December 2.
Singh’s letter also says that he does not doubt Kejriwal’s intentions as it’s possible to get misguided. “Now that you know abo-ut the antecedents of your Roha associate, you need to come clean as a remedial measure,” it adds.
A company controlled by Patil was under the scanner after a report by the Divisional Commissioner of Raigarh District pointed out several violations by it in December 2010.
