Bar dancer held in inter-state drug racket
A bar dancer, Shahida Sheikh (34), was arrested on Tuesday with five of her accomplices for running an inter-state drug syndicate.

Her main associate, Ravi, who operates from Hyderabad is absconding.

On Sunday, the police received a tip-off about a truck that was carrying a huge consignment of narcotics.
“We intercepted the truck that came from Hyderabad at Vashi and confiscated the drugs,” said Joint Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria.
Maria said Shahida was running the racket in Mumbai and Thane districts. While 710 kg of marijuana was seized from the truck, the rest was recovered from a godown in Boisar in Thane district.
He said that another consignment of 1,190 kg of marijuana brought to Thane last month was still to be seized.
