“We are recording statements of the watchman, neighbours and the women’s relatives. Their preliminary medical reports have revealed that they were smothered and stabbed several times with a sharp object” said S Wadke, senior inspector, Bhayander police station.

According to the police, Flora Roderigues, 44 and her friend Shilpa Gandhi, 38, were found in a pool of blood in the former’s first floor residence in the Hema Kunj building in Bhayander on Monday night. Flora’s son Nigel, who reached home at around 10 pm, discovered the bodies. Nothing seems to have been stolen, Wadke said.
