According to sources, the police stations in sensitive areas have been asked to be on vigil against any possible trouble in their jurisdiction. Police sources clarified that there was no specific alert, but the police were not taking any chances considering the significance of the verdict.

Dog squads and the bomb detection and disposal squads have been kept ready. Though no additional forces were deployed, reserve forces were asked to be ready in case of any eventuality.

The Mumbai police will also patrol most parts of the city and agencies will keep an eye on key and sensitive installations in the city.

Satyanarayan Chaudhari, spokesperson for Mumbai police, said all normal anti-terror measures were put in place.
