Upset over his poor performance in one of his exams, an 18-year-old student, Omkar, committed suicide on Saturday night in his house at Adharwadi, Kalyan.

On Sunday morning, his brother found he had hanged himself from the ceiling, a family member said.

The family also told the police that Omkar had discussed his poor performance with a friend. "We have registered a suicide case and will investigate further," said PI S Deshmukh, Bazaarpeth Police Station, Kalyan.
