Cop to face action for threatening magistrate

Inspector Pradeep Suryavanshi, who has been arrested for fake encounter of Chhota Rajan gangster Ramnarayan Gupta alias Lakhan Bhaiyya, will face disciplinary action in a month for allegedly threatening a magistrate who was inquiring into the case.

Public prosecutor Sangita Shinde on Thursday told the Bombay High Court that a show cause notice against him will be issued next week.

Disciplinary inquiry was initiated against Suryavanshi after the metropolitan magistrate R K Shaikh, who was conducting an inquiry into the alleged fake encounter, complained that the inspector had threatened her.

Suryavanshi was found guilty for misconduct and speaking rudely to an assistant public prosecutor.

During inquiry, the prosecutor denied that the inspector had threatened the magistrate.
