The man, in his early thirties, was killed by the bar manager, the manager’s friend and a waiter of Kwality Punjab Bar on November 26. The police arrested the trio on Wednesday.

“Another bar owner has come forward saying that the deceased’s name is Rajesh Salian and that he had seen him in Thane before. The arrested bar manager said that the deceased allegedly told him that he belonged to a gang. But we need to confirm these reports,” said senior police inspector Prakash Gavane.

The bar has been shut since Thursday.

Its owner Sanjay Parab said: “I handed over the bar to the manager, who is also a business partner. He (the manager) betrayed my trust. I have shut it down temporarily.”
