Explain transfer of Malegaon case to CBI: HC tells Mah govt

The Bombay High Court on Monday directed the Maharashtra government to explain why the investigations of September 2006 Malegaon blast was transferred to CBI.

The Bombay High Court on Monday directed the Maharashtra government to explain why the investigations of September 2006 Malegaon blast was transferred to CBI.

The state government should file an affidavit regarding this within two weeks, the Court said.

The High Court said that the reason for transfer of investigations after the chargesheet was filed are needed to be examined.

The court's order came after a petition was filed by three accused in the case seeking a probe into the manner in which the investigations were conducted.
