There were no suburban services running between Mankhurd and Nerul station on the harbour line from 11am to 4 pm.

The CR operated special services between CST-Mankhurd and Panvel-Thane during the block period.

Due to the mega block, commuters were forced to take the trans-harbour route or travel by road.

“We had no choice but to travel by bus. There was a lot of rush in it,” said Sunil Mali, a Nerul resident.

Local trains on the main line too were running behind schedule as there was a mega block between Matunga and Mulund station. The trains on the fast line were diverted on the slow track.
