Foetus of girl found buried in playground at Cuffe Parade

The Cuffe Parade police have registered a case of secretly disposing of a body by concealing the birth of a baby, after they found a foetus of girl on the morning of April 14.

The Cuffe Parade police have registered a case of secretly disposing of a body by concealing the birth of a baby, after they found a foetus of girl on the morning of April 14.

An officer from Cuffe Parade police station, on condition of anonymity, said, “The foetus was spotted in the helipad playground, located near the Backbay bus depot around 9 am. The semi-buried remains surfaced while children were playing there. The children informed the ground security staff, who in turn informed us.”

Initially, an accidental death report was registered, which was later converted into a case under Section 318 of IPC (concealment of birth by secret disposal of body).

The police stated that they were probing the incident, however, nothing as come to the fore till date.
