On Monday, Siddharth Sharma, a fourth-year law student from PG College of Law said he had gone to the university to get his re-evaluation results. He got into an argument with Shinde and then alleged that Shinde slapped him twice and asked his security personnel to throw him out. Shine, however, denied having hit him and said that the student behaved badly and threatened him because of which he asked the security to escort him out.

Members of various organisations and political parties met Welukar on Monday to ask him to take action against Shinde. The Bandra Kurla Complex police have registered a non-cognisable complaint against Shinde.
