Irked with non-compliance of orders pertaining to rail safety and medical assistance to accident victims, the Bombay high court on Friday issued show-cause notices to central and western railways, General Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF).
The court was hearing a contempt petition filed by activist Sameer Zaveri contending that the railways didn’t comply with the court’s directions. Earlier, Mistry had pointed out three issues — website upgradation, transfer of accident victims to hospitals and removal of dangerous poles. The HC directed all parties concerned to solve the issues.
During a meeting on January 9, BA Thombre , CST GRP’s assistant commissioner of police, said private hospitals didn’t treat accident victims even after presenting a memo from GRP.
