HC refuses to stay school bus rules execution

“If you are using your vehicle for transporting school children, you must have speed governors fitted in it,” the Bombay high court on Tuesday told the Maharashtra School Bus Owners Association, refusing to stay the implementation of school bus regulations introduced by the state government.

“If you are using your vehicle for transporting school children, you must have speed governors fitted in it,” the Bombay high court on Tuesday told the Maharashtra School Bus Owners Association, refusing to stay the implementation of school bus regulations introduced by the state government.

The court rejected the association’s plea for interim relief by stating that the safety of school-going children is of “paramount importance”.

As per the state’s deadline, all schools buses must be fitted with speed governors by November 1.
