More than 10 lakh residences in the eastern suburbs from Vikhroli onwards, Thane and Navi Mumbai have been spared a tariff hike.
HT ImageThe Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC), on Thursday, kept the power tariff for those who use less than 300 units a month unchanged.
Across the state, 1.2 crore residential consumers will benefit.
However, those who consume 301 to 500 units a month — homes with appliances such as ovens and air-conditioners — will pay 4.69 per cent more.
Those who consume more than 500 units will pay 4.02 per cent more.
The new tariff will be effective from September 1.
