Man assaulted while taking pregnant wife to hospital in Powai
According to the Powai police, the complainant, Sushant Shetty, who works with a private firm, was taking his wife for a checkup in a private hospital in their car on Thursday when a biker suddenly came in front of the car.
In a road rage incident, a man was allegedly assaulted by three men while he was taking his pregnant wife to hospital in Powai.

According to the Powai police, the complainant, Sushant Shetty, who works with a private firm, was taking his wife for a checkup in a private hospital in their car on Thursday when a biker suddenly came in front of the car.
“Following this, there was an altercation between the complainant and the biker,” said Yadavrao Jadhav, senior inspector, Powai police station.
Shetty then ignored the man and started to proceed towards the hospital. However, two more people on another two-wheeler followed t hem and started kicking the car. Shetty told the accused that his wife is pregnant, but to no avail, police said.
He then stopped the car and rolled down his windows, after which the accused started beating him. The accused also tried to remove the car keys, Shetty told the police.
“The complainant was allegedly slapped by the accused. Passers-by intervened and sorted out the issue, following which Shetty went to the hospital,” said Jadhav. Shetty noted the number plate of the two-wheeler and approached the Powai police Sushant later. However, no arrests have been made so far.
A case has been registered under sections 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code.
