Man held for raping minor
The police said on Sunday afternoon, Manoj Kumar Vishwakarma, 23, was passing by the victim’s house on Khairani Road. Luring her with a sweet, he took her to a secluded spot in Powai and allegedly raped her.

A labourer was arrested from Sakinaka on Wednesday for allegedly kidnapping and raping a six-year-old girl.
The police said on Sunday afternoon, Manoj Kumar Vishwakarma, 23, was passing by the victim’s house on Khairani Road. Luring her with a sweet, he took her to a secluded spot in Powai and allegedly raped her.
“When he was taking the girl home, she saw a woman and ran towards her. The woman suspected something amiss and called for help, but the accused fled,” said S Dhanedhar, senior inspector.
Based on the description given by the girl and woman, the police detained 12 people, including Vishwakarma. Vishwakarma reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation. A medical examination of the victim confirmed that she was raped.
