This announcement by Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel comes a day after NCP leader Ajit Pawar had said his party was not allergic to MNS, which gave indications of NCP being open to a tie-up with MNS.

Speaking in the presence of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi at a rally in Mumbai today, Patel said he was clearing the confusion on behalf of party chief Sharad Pawar that it will not compromise with the principle of secularism for power.

He said Shiv Sena and MNS are two sides of the same coin and we are committed to fight both of them with same vigour.

Patel expressed confidence that Congress-NCP will win a majority in the assembly elections hence there is no question of having allies like MNS.
