Security guard arrested for molesting girl

The Vanrai police arrested a 50-year-old school watchman, at Goregaon, for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl earlier this month.

The Vanrai police arrested a 50-year-old school watchman, at Goregaon, for allegedly molesting a 14-year-old girl earlier this month.

The victim, who has just appeared for her exams, was waiting for her friend outside her school on January 19 when the accused, Harishankar Tiwari, asked if she would like to eat something as she was tired, police said.

Since the girl knew him, she went to the office where Tiwari offered her some rice. According to police, Tiwari hugged the victim from behind after she started eating.

"At this point, the victim fled from there and later told her friend about what had happened," said an officer. A few days later, she told her parents who went to the police who registered a FIR against the accused.
