The Shiv Sena through its mouthpiece Saamna taunted former revenue minister Eknath Khadse saying those who messed with the party always faced trouble ---- either they were put behind bars or sidelined in politics.

The editorial also blasted the theory of media trial put forward by Khadse saying circumstantial evidence were responsible for his ouster.

In an editorial in Saamna, the Sena mouthpiece, said Khadse bore the fruits of his deeds.

“Khadse always boasted that he was proud as he conveyed the decision to break ties with the Sena. Today, he is facing the result of his action. Those who came in the way of Sena were either politically sidelined or arrested,” said the editorial.

It was an indirect reference to former top Sena leaders Narayan Rane and Chhagan Bhujbal.

Before the 2014 Assembly elections, it was Khadse who had called Sena president Uddhav Thackeray and told him of BJP’s decision to ‎break ties with the Sena.

Khadse even boasted that he had convinced the BJP top brass to break ties with the Sena. The Sena has been critical of him and have not spared a single opportunity to target him. Saamna has been prominently covering his news.

The editorial dismissed Khadse’s claim of media trial.

“Khadse’s PA was caught in a bribery case. Dawood’s phone record had Khadse’s number. MIDC land records were manipulated to favour his relatives. This was reported by the media as it was. Khadse as Opposition leader spared no one, now he is facing the same fate,” it added.

The editorial also took a dig at BJP MP Kirit Somaiya, who had accused it of corruption. It asked why Somaiya was silent on Khadse and whether he would come up with evidence to prove Khadse’s innocence.

Khadse quit on Saturday after a series of allegations levelled ‎against him.
