“Selling these products will enable us to have our own savings and keep community savings for any of our sisters in need. We won’t let elderly members of our community out to fend for themselves,” said Seema Pewehar, member of the community.

The initiative was a brainchild of Aastha Enterprise, a wing of the Aastha Parivar, a community of commercial sex workers. The products will be made with the Indian Women Industries Network, an organisation to promote women entrepreneurs.
