Situated at Kala Ghoda, a new nightclub called LIV, may occupy the space where the discotheque Red Light was once situated. But the owners insist there is no connection between the two. Ritik Bhasin, Shashi Thadani and Sunny Sara, who launched Red Light more than a decade ago, have partnered with Aneesh Bahl for this new SoBo joint.

Says Sunny, “South Mumbai loves exclusivity and we’ve done the commercial bit with Red Light. It’s been about a year since it shut down. This time, it’s a small space for about 300 – 400 people, and to maintain that exclusivity, it’s going to be an ‘guest-list only’ club. Nightclubs don’t last long, we are just increasing its life by doing this.” On being asked whether that plan was permanent, he says, “At least for the next one year.” LIV will be officially launched this weekend.
