Speeding police van hits car, crashes into electric pole

A speeding police van travelling to Nashik scraped the right side of a Maruti Swift parked at Cheda junction on the Eastern Express Highway on Tuesday, and then climbed on to a footpath before hitting an electric pole, reports HT Correspondent.

A speeding police van travelling to Nashik scraped the right side of a Maruti Swift parked at Cheda junction on the Eastern Express Highway on Tuesday, and then climbed on to a footpath before hitting an electric pole.

No injuries were reported, however, the Tilak Nagar police booked the police van driver, Harishchander Gujale (35), for rash and negligent driving.

Gujale (35) was accompanied by Sathi Pawar (40).

The owner of the Maruti Swift was identified as Rajpal Singh Vig (35). The police took both to Rajawadi Hospital to check whether if they had consumed alcohol.
