She was in Kalyan and Dombivli with her team, to check on preparations for the elections to be held on October 31.

Satyanarayan said she was satisfied with the preparation by KDMC Commissioner Ramnath Sonawane.

She added that the commission will introduce new electronic voting machines (EVM). “We have received various complaints about the EVMs. Therefore, to avoid any controversies, we will introduce the new voting machines which will have a memory chip in them to avoid tampering and fake voting.”

In order to avoid chaos during voting, the commission has made small booths, which have a capacity of 800-900 workers.

Satyanarayan said that every booth will have a lady officer to identify the women wearing burkhas so that transparency is maintained in the voting process.

The symbols that were omitted were a banana, carrot, a wooden bed, doli, frock, purse, pressure cooker, and spoon.
