Train services on Western Railway (WR) and Central Railway (CR) were delayed by 15 minutes due to technical snags on Monday.

At 8 am, trains between Virar and Nallasopra were hit as a miscreant removed an important insulator from the toolbox next to the railway tracks. The trains, running towards Virar on the slow line, were affected by 15 minutes, thus leaving a cascading effect on trains heading Churchgate.
“The problem was rectified by 8.55 am,” said Nitin David, PRO, WR. However, trains ran slow until afternoon but by evening the services came back to normalcy.
At 1 pm, a signal failure between Thane and Kalwa hit services on CR. Trains were running slow on both Up and Down lines, an official said adding that those trains running between these stretches were diverted on fast line till the problem was rectified.
“We managed to rectify the error in the signal by 1.55 pm and the services resumed in sometime,” said A.K. Singh, PRO, CR.
No trains were cancelled on both the railways.
