“The jail authorities demand money from inmates, including my son,” said Ayush Bhatt’s father Arun. “Those who do not pay are badly beaten.”

The court has directed jail authorities to take Bhatt to a hospital for a medical exam.

Arthur Road Jail Superintendent Rajendra Damane has refuted all the allegations. Ayush Bhatt and four others allegedly kidnapped Patrawala and later murdered him.
